[It’d been a couple of weeks since Perona left. Found her letter to him apologizing about what had happened when they were possessed, found the key and the mold, and found Mihawk had left as well. He informed the village then. Keimi? Also gone; he had never really interacted with her, but he felt her loss as another piece of home slipping back to where it belonged.
The tide continued to draw out and their community was so small now, so fast. On top of everything else that had happened to him in the last few months, it ached, and he was so sick of aching and so tired.
Would he be last standing? Who knew. But wallowing did no one any good.
… it was time to start moving on. Or at least trying.]
[Sunday morning finds Law at the Memorial Garden planting white heather, and then to the Shrine. He’s not sure what to do here, really. He’s never been religious, just spiritual in his own way, and the traditions outside a wedding or a funeral or basically acting mannerly at a shrine are ones he’s unfamiliar with.
All the crows around the building are comforting, really.
Later in the morning, he hits the beach. It’s the closest to home he can get, and before he takes the Shinonome out for a few hours, he finds a log hauled up the sand and just sits. Watches the waves crash on shore.
Afternoon finds him at the Battle Dome training. Or more specifically, training by fighting with his eyes bandaged over. The safeties are only on for this session, normally Law does without, but he’s testing the limits of what he can perceive with his Haki. He swings by the Item Shop to pick up a Go board and everything that needs to go with it, and then heads home to set up with that and his Shogi board on the porch.
It’s time to coax some spirits over to play and try to work back into feeling comfortable with their presence. Games seem to work wonders, and soon House 22’s backyard is as spirit central as it ever gets, admittedly with not all those involved playing, but all involved commenting. And arguing. And teasing. And whatever else that floats their boat.
Through it all the wind blows leaves through the backyard. One remains stubbornly stuck to Law’s forehead. He seemingly pays it no mind as he plays on.]

What isn't normal, however, is that bandage covering Law's eyes. Because of that, Gai stops to watch for longer than he usually would, just observing. He may not know what Haki is, but he's got a few guesses as to why Law would want to impair his vision like that for training-- he's done so himself on more than one occasion, after all.
He knows better than to interrupt his friend, so he'll just watch and wait until Law is finished.]
[Action]
Spikes erupt from the ground as Law backflips out of the way. His opponent swings around to press the advantage and the dance continues.
It ends finally in the slightest of missteps. The opposing blade swings a little too high (lured high) and Law's nodachi finds its way under the hologram's guard and to its chest. The simulation breaks apart as it falls.
With that, Law's ready for a break. He left a towel and some water right outside the chamber door. So out he comes.]
[Action]
Not bad at all. Testing your hearing, or something else?
[Action]
[He stretches languidly. Oh. That feels good. Nothing like a good fight to relieve tension.]
Made for a really good workout all in all.

[Action | Battle Dome]
I hope you don't mind if I watch a little...?
[Action | Battle Dome]
[If he did, he wouldn't do this in the Dome. He doesn't mind others and the Malnosso seeing what he's willing to show off. Besides he and she might have to run a mission together and it would probably be beneficial for her to know a little of what he can do.
The doors to the sim chamber open, and the setting can be seen. An actively ever shifting landscape. A challenge enough to keep your footing while blind, but Law's spiced it up a little for fun.]
Re: [Action | Battle Dome]
[She's watching him curiously. The idea of blind-fighting is a familiar one to her, a good way to train senses beside sight; she's done it a few times with Tsunade. But he's certainly given himself a challenge in that regard.
She takes up a position at the door, where she'll be out of his way, keen to see what he does.]
Thank you.

Looking for some entertainment, Death-san?
[and she turns the page of the book she's reading]
[Action]
Thought I'd do a little branching out from shogi. Variety is the spice of life and all.
[Action]
Is your variety limited to board games or do you find other ways to pass the time?
[Action]
Cooking. Reading. Fishing. ... good amounts of physical exercise. [Whiiiich can taken straight. Or a few other ways.] Nature hikes. As much exploration as I can manage.

[Action, Marco also has Stefan with him.]
[He has sharp eyes. And is easily pinged by games of intellectual pursuit. Also don't mind the affectionate white dog with a mustache sniffing your hands. He just wants food.]
I didn't know Itachi was a fan.
[THIS FACE IS CLEARLY PLOTTING SOMETHING. Run Law. Run fast.]
[Action, Marco also has Stefan with him.]
He is. So is Shikamaru.
[Action]
Game league. I challenge you to a tournamen--
Wait, have you ever played before? [Probably should have asked that first.]
[Action]
[Does he like cats? This is an important question. There are two... probably three at Law's house.]

The ninja sits down beside his partner, curiosity written all over the visible part of his face.]

Gaming is very important, you see.
Law turns to him, leaf still stuck to his forehead. You're doing your training, he's doing his. He looks embarrassed. Both for the ruckus, and for Marco earlier (which is coming.)]
Hey. You want to play these guys too?
[And all the spirits go quiet. Ooo, a new guy to play?]
no subject
No, that's quite all right. I'm simply here to see what all the commotion is about.
[They're not incredibly loud, but this household is generally a quiet one.]

I hope this works!
And if Law's not the kind of person to approach someone on his own, well, said shelf might hold the Go board...and he's right in the way.]
It does!
Law freezes in place as he catches sight of it. He... really misses Bepo right about now. The white heather this morning was for him... it's nearly been two years since his first mate disappeared from the enclosure, and it's hard to let go of nakama. Especially him.
He... can get the Go board off the shelf without approaching. His Devil Fruit powers are useful. But they are also... flashy. Game board and the two bowls full of stones disappearing in blue light that forms a bubble before disappearing? That is a go.
They appear right in his hands. Of course, Law is blocking the way out if Panda should whirl around.]
no subject
Ehh...where did they go...?
[He's talking about the bowls, of course. Because he opens his paws to look down at the Go stones he'd swiped. They're black and white. They match him perfectly. Oh, well! He'll just have to take them, even though there's a weird-looking man blocking the way out.]
Excuse me. I need to get by.
