021 [Action]

[It’d been a couple of weeks since Perona left. Found her letter to him apologizing about what had happened when they were possessed, found the key and the mold, and found Mihawk had left as well. He informed the village then. Keimi? Also gone; he had never really interacted with her, but he felt her loss as another piece of home slipping back to where it belonged.

The tide continued to draw out and their community was so small now, so fast. On top of everything else that had happened to him in the last few months, it ached, and he was so sick of aching and so tired.

Would he be last standing? Who knew. But wallowing did no one any good.

… it was time to start moving on. Or at least trying.]

[Sunday morning finds Law at the Memorial Garden planting white heather, and then to the Shrine. He’s not sure what to do here, really. He’s never been religious, just spiritual in his own way, and the traditions outside a wedding or a funeral or basically acting mannerly at a shrine are ones he’s unfamiliar with.

All the crows around the building are comforting, really.

Later in the morning, he hits the beach. It’s the closest to home he can get, and before he takes the Shinonome out for a few hours, he finds a log hauled up the sand and just sits. Watches the waves crash on shore.

Afternoon finds him at the Battle Dome training. Or more specifically, training by fighting with his eyes bandaged over. The safeties are only on for this session, normally Law does without, but he’s testing the limits of what he can perceive with his Haki. He swings by the Item Shop to pick up a Go board and everything that needs to go with it, and then heads home to set up with that and his Shogi board on the porch.

It’s time to coax some spirits over to play and try to work back into feeling comfortable with their presence. Games seem to work wonders, and soon House 22’s backyard is as spirit central as it ever gets, admittedly with not all those involved playing, but all involved commenting. And arguing. And teasing. And whatever else that floats their boat.

Through it all the wind blows leaves through the backyard. One remains stubbornly stuck to Law’s forehead. He seemingly pays it no mind as he plays on.]
voidseeing: (No that was stupid too)

[Running into Law in the Battle Dome itself rather than the clinic isn't anything out of the ordinary for Gai; the two of them both spend considerable amounts of time training there, meaning that it's inevitable that their paths cross every so often.

What isn't normal, however, is that bandage covering Law's eyes. Because of that, Gai stops to watch for longer than he usually would, just observing. He may not know what Haki is, but he's got a few guesses as to why Law would want to impair his vision like that for training-- he's done so himself on more than one occasion, after all.

He knows better than to interrupt his friend, so he'll just watch and wait until Law is finished.]

[He'll find Gai waiting outside, just leaning against the wall with an amused grin on his face. He isn't even going to hide the fact that he was watching-- what's the point? If Law minded spectators, he wouldn't have been in the Battle Dome in the first place.]

Not bad at all. Testing your hearing, or something else?
voidseeing: (Crazy 'bout a well-dressed man)

I don't know the first thing about Haki, but I find doing that to be far more useful than meditating. It lets me know if I'm starting to get rusty.

[He smirks.]

I never thought I'd find myself worrying about that.
voidseeing: (Yes it's bigger than yours)

I'm used to having to fight on a weekly basis. Here, the best I can do is set up simulations, but even they can't compare to a human opponent. Humans are both predictable and unpredictable at the same time-- no AI can mimic that.

[Law's someone she knows well enough from clinic work, but seeing him actually training is a different thing. And admittedly, she's a little curious. Not a ninja but a pirate; what's the difference in what he can do?]

I hope you don't mind if I watch a little...?
toujoursfluer: (so damn cool)

[she is sitting by the fountain as Law comes out of the item shop. If he is sharp eyes, he will notice other eyes watching him hidden in shadows of the eves of the building.]

Looking for some entertainment, Death-san?

[and she turns the page of the book she's reading]
voidseeing: (Come with me)

[Now he pushes away from the wall and straightens up, still grinning.]

Of course, there is always one way to fix that.

[it's not you. It's everyone. But since she has nothing better to do, she closes her book and stands to join him]

Is your variety limited to board games or do you find other ways to pass the time?
voidseeing: (Can't touch this)

Up for a spar? I could use a go with a real opponent for a change.
voidseeing: (Would I lie to you?)

Lucky for you, that happens to be my specialty.

[He rolls his shoulders a few times in an attempt to work the stiffness out of the partially-crystallized one. It isn't hampering his mobility too much just yet, but that doesn't mean he wants to fight without loosening up first.]
frost_jewel: (just as planned)

[She doesn't frequent the beach as often as she might, but in the summer months it's hardly uncommon to find someone else there when she does. This particular someone is the surprise. Mia is on a walk, and so just waves and mouths a Hello as she passes Law's log the first time.]
voidseeing: (On a wing and a prayer)

[With a nod, Gai steps back into the simulation room, shrugging off his shirt in the process to allow him a better range of movement. Whether Law chooses to remove the bandaging or not, Gai isn't going to hold back-- he knows damn well that Law wouldn't want him to, the same way he doesn't want Law to hold back because of his condition.]

The same setting as the scenario you just ran, or something different?
frost_jewel: (hm?)

[It is a short walk; there isn't much to find washed up, and it's rather warm even by the water. On her way back she passes closer, and she'll stop a few feet away, trying to read whether he's up for company.]
fierybluebird: (plotting something evil)

[Action, Marco also has Stefan with him.]

[personal profile] fierybluebird 2013-07-15 03:08 am (UTC)(link)
Go, eh?

[He has sharp eyes. And is easily pinged by games of intellectual pursuit. Also don't mind the affectionate white dog with a mustache sniffing your hands. He just wants food.]

I didn't know Itachi was a fan.

[THIS FACE IS CLEARLY PLOTTING SOMETHING. Run Law. Run fast.]
