[Hello Luceti. You’re greeted by the sound of a journal opening and muttering. And in the far background, rustling. Like something is squirming around in the distance - wrapping, twining, growing.

We might have a problem here.]

Is there anyone in the village with extensive knowledge of fairy tales? We have a situation on our hands we could use some advice dealing with. [Or maybe even a rescue, but Law’s pride keeps him from saying that much - for now.]

Thorns. [Katara’s voice piped in.] Lots and lots of thorns. They’re growing and overtaking the house, and we’re not sure why.

We think they’re connected to a kidnapping effect. The lady affected has been in an unnaturally deep sleep for days and nothing seems to wake her. [Nothing. Not even beer bottles perched on her head. 8|a ] Has anyone heard of anything like this?

It's certainly worth a try. [Maybe this stupid thing makes allowances for princesses! Love shouldn't have bounds] Where is she? In her room?

I think so. [Probably hiding from this madness] Let me check real quick.

[Vivi, please be in your room. Sanji can't handle the thought of another man putting his lips anywhere near Nami's precious face. ;;]

[Coincidentally, that is exactly where she is. Vivi looks up at the knock on her door.]

Come in! [And once she sees it's Sanji, she stands, wondering if there's been any change in the situation.]

Is Nami-san..?

[You know it's serious when Sanji doesn't bother with theatrics when there's a lady in his presence. He casts a somber, steady glance in Vivi's direction]

Vivi-chan, we need you to kiss Nami-san.

[With absolutely no context, that request would be perplexing, to say the least. Even under the current circumstances, it takes Vivi a moment to puzzle out the line of logic.]

O-oh. Do you think that will break the spell? [She'd suggested a prince, but it hadn't occurred to her that she might also qualify. She hesitates for a moment before giving a decisive nod.] All right! Let's try it! [Maybe there's no reason it wouldn't work; a prince and a princess are essentially the same except for gender, after all. At the very least, she owes it to Nami to give it a try.]

[Sanji immediately relaxes into his old habits, squeeing and wiggling all the while] Aaaah~! I knew we could count on you~!

[No, honestly, this is a shitty load off his mind. And while he assumes it's a long shot, what with gender being a deciding factor in what roles everyone plays in fairy tales, Sanji will happily embrace this new-found hope Vivi has bestowed them with.

Because he won't have to kill anyone if Vivi plays the prince!]

It's nothing! I'm sure Nami-san would do the same for me!

[Will it really be that simple? She's not all that sure it will work, but in the face of Sanji's enthusiasm, she allows herself to hope.]

[They're from One Piece; it's never that simple. But for now, Sanji dares to dream he can escape incinerating another human being in a fit of rage, and leads Vivi to Nami's room, where the woman slumbers on.]

[And Law sits close by, raising his head as the two come into the room.]

Law-san. [Vivi greets him with a slight incline of her head.] No change?

[She glances back over her shoulder at Sanji, unsure if Law is in on this plan or not.] Sanji-san thought, since I'm royalty, maybe I might be able to wake her...

[Law, you voyeur. Should've known you'd be around for the proceedings.

Sanji offers no comment to that, just looking flat and defiant and ready to get this party started. Everyone else can bet he's busy praying to whatever god he follows that this work, and work quickly]

[Sanji, you make that sound like a bad thing. There should be a doctor on hand in case you get a little... overwhelmed due to the upcoming girl on girl action.]

Unfortunately not. She's still showing no signs of stirring.

I know. [Nodding. Yes, he's in on the plan. Hoping it works.] It's a good idea and I hope it works.

[Vivi nods, stepping up to Nami's bedside. There she pauses, trying to mentally gear herself up for this. Giving Nami a kiss isn't that daunting in itself, but the current comatose state her friend is in makes this feel more awkward--even a bit intrusive.]

[She starts to lean over, tucking a strand of her loose hair behind an ear.]

...do you think--should it be on the lips? [Perhaps it's a mark of her relative inexperience, but it hadn't occurred to Vivi until just now that fairy tale kisses tend to be a little more than a peck on the cheek.]

Definitely on the lips, Vivi-chan! [Oh gosh, lady, does Sanji need to explain the rules of the game?] It must be the innocent, pure kiss of love! From one man-- [Pause. Looking Vivi up and down. Amending]

Er, from one woman to another!

... uh, yes. [Nodding. Pure innocent kiss of love. Not friendship. ... anyway. WHAT SANJI SAID.]

[That seems like kind of a tall order when you phrase it like that, Sanji. Well. Friendship is a type of love, right? Besides, he may have a point; instead of simply going through the motions, maybe it will work better if she focuses on how much she cares about Nami and wants this to succeed.]

[Vivi pauses for a moment, halfway through the motion of leaning to Nami's face. She reaches for Nami's hand, resting lightly atop the covers, and encircles it with her own. Only then she begins to move again, slowly, till her lips are near Nami's ear. Her voice is a low murmur as she speaks, giving Nami's hand a gentle squeeze of encouragement to punctuate what she says. She closes her eyes, trying to pour every bit of affection she feels for her friend into her words:] Nami-san, please wake up.

[Then just the barest of pauses as she takes a breath and begins to move in for the ~~kill~~ kiss.]

[... SO.

Why exactly is there a lack of video coverage in this room? Not that Sanji needs it or anything, ahaha... >_>

Seriously though who's got the camera-- and oh yeah he should probably lean forward to see if it worked or not.]

But hey now, you're blocking the view. Leaning forward a little himself to catch the action...]

[~~omg get out you voyeurs~~ Oblivious to her audience, Vivi brings her lips to Nami's, parting them slightly as she kisses her. It's fairly chaste as kisses go, and as Vivi continues to feel no response whatsoever from Nami, not even the barest answering movement of lips, she cuts it off rather abruptly, lifting her head to watch for any delayed reaction from her friend. She gives Nami's hand another little squeeze, but the navigator's face remains impassive in sleep. Vivi sighs, looking back over her shoulder to Sanji.]

I don't think that did anything. [Her voice sounds more disappointed than she'd meant it to, and Vivi realizes that a part of her had begun to believe that this would actually be the answer.]

[Sanji is, quite possibly, more disappointed than Vivi is, judging by the way his shoulders slouch in momentary defeat - and all of his reasons are so slanted towards selfishness that he keeps them quiet.]

It was still a good try, Vivi-chan. [He sighs and leans back, pinching the bridge of his nose]

[Vivi scrubs a hand quickly over her face and manages a weak smile.] I suppose it didn't hurt to try. Though now I wonder... [She looks thoughtful, bringing a hand up to lightly touch a knuckle to her lower lip. After a long moment, she flicks her gaze between Sanji and Law, and back to Nami.]

Why do you think it didn't work? Because we're both women? Or maybe because it really does need to be Nami-san's true love? [If that last is true, they could have a real problem on their hands...]

It could be either... we won't really know until a prince takes a shot.

[Oh yes, a real, real problem.]

[Pinching, pinching his nose harder. Shit, those words are physically painful in ways he never imagined.]

Tch, does she even have a true love? [Tone heavily implying that as far as Sanji was aware? No, no she doesn't.]

[Vivi shakes her head.] I don't think so, no. [It seems unlikely, at least, and Vivi is fairly certain that if Nami did have someone she cared about like that, she'd've told her about them.]

[She glances back to Sanji, unsure if she should ask...] Maybe--have you tried kissing her, Sanji-san? You may not be actually royalty, but...[Mr Prince. It's a huge stretch and Vivi knows it, but just as in her case, could it really hurt to at least try?]
