[Apparently someone's been marking where the mistletoe are. There's yellow streamers hanging around. That someone soon appears with more streamers at his belt.]

... oh. The Malnosso's holiday spirit got to you too I'm guessing. Grab a bed.

[The angle of approach isn't good to get a clear picture of the woman's features. Law doesn't recognize Ginia quite yet. Right now he sees a patient in need of some cleaning up.]

[Thank goodness for the streamers. Ginia makes her way to a bed, giving any mistletoe in the way wide breadth. She seats herself and fishes around in her bag for a notepad and pen. Her handwriting is a little sloppier than usual, though still quite legible, as she jots down the list of injuries that may not be apparent.]

Ribs on left side feel bruised, don't feel broken or cracked
Bruising on legs, nothing broken or sprained
Head feels fine, eye aside.

No allergies to medication

[There's a face he hasn't seen for a while. Ginia. Must've gotten here in the last wave - explains why he hasn't caught her yet on the journals. That and the fact she communicates in writing.

It might be notable that he's not surprised that he's being shown a notepad or questioning it in any way - no inquires if she can speak. But aside from that, there's not much outward sign that would clue Ginia in that the doctor recognizes her. Law's face is set in polite professionalism as he fishes out a penlight from a pocket and places it on the tray next to the bed.]

How's the breathing then? Not too painful?

[Before he does anything else aside from washing up and gloving, he's going to check how her pupils are dilating. Her head might feel fine now, but sometimes the symptoms of a concussion take a while to show up.]

[Not showing any surprise or mentioning the notepad Ginia chalks up to medical professionalism. All the same, she knows she was in the village before and if she was the same then as she is now undoubtedly there were trips to the clinic. But time will tell.

She waggles her hand from side-to-side. It's tolerable, but she's developed a bit of a high threshold for pain over the years.]

Hurts, but tolerable. I've hurt my ribs before.

[She'll sit still while he checks her eyes. While she took a good shot to the eye, Ginia kept her hands up and her head out of the way.]

[No concussion then. No cure for that eye then but painkillers, an icepack, and Nala's magic if Ginia allows it.

Tolerable could refer to a range of pain, Law knows. Any decent fighter (himself included) could take a level of agony that would leave others screaming. Time to take a look.]

I see. Never a fun time, I know. Can I take a look there?

[A nod's fine. He just wants to make sure there's no internal bleeding along with no fractures or breaks on those ribs.]

[A nod is given. She raises her left arm and hikes her shirt up. There's no place for modesty or embarrassment in a hospital and Ginia's been in and out enough hospitals and backdoor to no longer care.

The bruises along her ribs are a fresh mottling of red and purple, a few bruises lower down. Inhale. Exhale. Ow.]

[Gently, carefully running his hands over and palpatating the area. No, no, no breaks, no fractures, no internal bleeding. He feels nothing amiss in that way, nothing that would case him to question and break out the X-ray machine for verification.]

You're right. Just bruising, nothing more serious. You'll be sore for a while; I'll prescribe painkillers to help with that. Rest and ice will do the rest. [Ribs were troublesome that way. There was only so much you could do for them. However...] If you want, though, I can accelerate the healing process with Nala's magic once I attend to the rest of your injuries. I might not be able to heal it all the way - everyone responds differently to filial magic - but I can definately improve your recovery time.

[Rest, ice, and painkillers, the royal trio of healing. Though healing magic adds an interesting mix to things. She nods in agreement, quite curious to how healing magic works as well as well as the affect it'll have on her injuries.]

Any known side-effects from Nala's magic? Or other things I should be aware of?

None from Nala's. The only side effects experienced by filial magic are felt by the caster, and that pertains to Twila, the darkness spirit. Its magic can be quite taxing to the user.

[Ginia nods slowly. There are other questions that come to mind, but first things first.]

Can you do anything for the eye too? Also if you aren't busy after, I'd like to ask a few questions.

I can.

[Reaching for the antiseptic. Scrapes next.]

... if there aren't any other patients to attend to by the time I'm finished, certainly. I'll answer what I'm able to.

[Excellent. There's no one else in the clinic, but there's still mistletoe around and they are in the Battle Dome. Who knows what could happen in the next few hours.

The antiseptic stings, but it wouldn't be the same otherwise. There's barely a flinch from her as he cleans out her scrapes.]

[She's a good patient. Better than the usual hot blooded crowd that usually graced this establishment. Doesn't flinch when he cleans her wounds. Makes it easier to do a good job.

And he's probably not going to have to worry about her tearing off her bandages once she's out of his sight. Unlike some people from his world.

He finishes with the rest of her wounds and moves back to her ribs.]

You let me know if any of this gets uncomfortable for you, okay?

[His hands begin to pick up a white glow as he lifts her shift to place them against the bruising.]

[Ginia gives a thumbs up. There's a rule to not watch the doctor working on wounds when it comes to something like sewing up a cut or setting bones. This? This is too interesting to not watch.

The glow is soothing and warm, comforting. Some of the soreness abates and breathing becomes easier. There's still a bit of an edge on her inhales and exhales, but it's not as bad as it was earlier. Nala's power. Interesting. Certainly worth taking an attempt at learning.]

[Law will continue until the ribs are healed or he senses Nala's power is no longer having an effect. Whatever comes first.

Then he places a hand against the bruising around the eye and the process repeats. The doctor doesn't look tired (granted he has reserves to spare).]

There, that should be better.

[It's a remarkable thing having bruised ribs healed in a matter of moments. It's the sort of thing Ginia wishes she had in her life more often.

She flinches slightly when his hand touches her black eye, but it's more out of a dislike of having things anywhere near her eye. She closes her eye as he heals and doesn't open it again until the bruising is gone and her full range of vision restored.

Healing magic. Very impressive. She smiles and nods her approval and thanks.]

I have some chronic pain in my lower back and knees. Think you can do anything about that?

[The comments is a little facetious, but if something can be done, Ginia won't say no.]

... hmm, I can try. Is it because of general wear and tear or are there healed injuries flaring up?

General wear and tear. Also some hearing loss in my left ear.

[Natural causes. Well. Who knows. The shifting works well on injuries but treating the ravages of time isn't a common practice.

It'll be interesting to find out the effectiveness here.]

... I'll give it a shot. No promises. This isn't the sort of thing the magic generally treats.

[Ginia nods. At worst, it does nothing. At best... at best it fixes something, but Ginia doesn't expect that. If anything, it'll be like putting on a hot pack or ice pack.]

If magic doesn't work, is there anything else you can suggest? I already keep a hot water bottle and ice pack on hand and do stretching exercises.

Ibuprofen is what I'd suggest as a first choice drug in pain management and decreasing any contributing inflammation. If you don't respond to that... codeine might be the next step.

[It'd have to be carefully managed though if given out - and Law was always wary when deciding when to prescribe such things. It was in the opioid class, and potentially addictive, especially given how people suffered long term in Luceti.]

Ibuprofen will be fine. I can manage without, but some days get especially bad.

[A known side effect of the life she's lead. That she can still walk, run, and even fight, is something she still appreciates.]

[A nod.]

Then I'll make up a prescription for you once we're finished.

[Ginia bobs her head in thanks. Such a nice doctor, certainly better than other ones she's had to seen.

Once more, she'll remain still for Law to finish his examination.]

[Back, knees, left ear. That's the order in which he looks at, appraises the damage, and attempts to apply Nala to improve the function and/or lessen the pain of each area.

And as before, he stops as he feels the power cease to be effective. Now to find out the results.]
