[Hello Luceti. You’re greeted by the sound of a journal opening and muttering. And in the far background, rustling. Like something is squirming around in the distance - wrapping, twining, growing.

We might have a problem here.]

Is there anyone in the village with extensive knowledge of fairy tales? We have a situation on our hands we could use some advice dealing with. [Or maybe even a rescue, but Law’s pride keeps him from saying that much - for now.]

Thorns. [Katara’s voice piped in.] Lots and lots of thorns. They’re growing and overtaking the house, and we’re not sure why.

We think they’re connected to a kidnapping effect. The lady affected has been in an unnaturally deep sleep for days and nothing seems to wake her. [Nothing. Not even beer bottles perched on her head. 8|a ] Has anyone heard of anything like this?

Aaa... yes, I'm an Ability user. [Neckscratch.] I know, quite a few of us in Luceti, huh?

Quite a few that I know, yes. [And now Miyabi mentally listing them off, both those in and out of Luceti.] What exactly is your ability? If you don't mind my asking.

It's very difficult to describe it exactly, but it basically boils down to modification and changes in state.

Eh... [Yeah, she has no idea. But at least she'll be honest about it.] I'm afraid I don't quite understand. You can change things?

Actually, Mister Law...I'd like to ask you something else. Do you think you could teach a bit of, uhm, basic medicine? I'm mostly familiar with medicinal herbs and plants, but that's really all I can do. I've been meaning to learn from Nala, but knowing more than that would be helpful. [Considering how bad off Zoro got with those thorns, and her own arm was pretty roughed up, too.] If it wouldn't trouble you, of course...

Oh no, it doesn't trouble me at all. I and a couple of others run a class Wednesdays and Sundays to teach combat first aid. Why don't you come attend those, and for anything else, I can set up private lessons.

Really?! Thank you very much, Mister Law! I promise I'll work very hard. [This is a big deal, so of course she will. Given the track record of almost all of her friends, learning some medicine would be a big help to them. It just took this event to give her the push she needed to really get things going.] The lessons are held at the battle dome clinic, right? Just to be sure.

Oh, no problem. I'm sure you'll pick things up very fast.

[If nothing else, she has the right attitude for the class. Big thing right there.]

In the simulator right next door to the Battle Dome clinic, actually. We make sure you get as much hands on practice as possible.

[Miyabi nods, to show that she understands, and mentally recites the place and time to commit it to memory. She'll have to be sure to remember to show up and not forget.]

That's good. ...I've never done anything like this, so I am a little nervous, but really. Thank you. If you ever need anything at all, I am familiar with many medicinal plants and herbs, and I can grow them quickly.

Oh, are you? I'll definitely keep that in mind. I grow a small garden myself, but I'm afraid I'm very much an amateur.

Well, it helps to have a bit of magic when you're in a rush... [And to demonstrate, Miyabi rubs a bit of ink onto her fingers from her sword's brush tip and paints a circle on the coffee table. She'd do this with her brush, but drawing the sword with her less dominant hand is just plain awkward. Either way, from the circle of ink sprouts a single colorful flower.]

But I still know how to grow plants and foods on my own, if I need to.

... it certainly does. [He whistles, a little awestruck and enchanted. That was a pretty piece of magic.]
