After that, it’s the flower shop for some seeds for herbs. Lunch is next… maybe she’ll even poke up to Cloud Nine out of curiosity, and then it’s time for some hardcore training just so she can get used to this body. Her center of gravity is so off right now.

Something for Robin. She wants a garden patch near Nami's mikan grove, but I don't know the first thing about growing flowers. [Just rolling in them. :| And maybe tasting them >> shhh.]

Well, let's take a look. I'm sure there's something nice and hardy here. Though I really have no clue myself when it comes to growing them. Itachi prefers to grow vegetables, and the rose bramble growing up the front porch seems to have a mind of its own.

Understood. Sunflowers are pretty much my favorite, though they remind me of Thatch. Which reminds, I should look for some white ones for Pops' memorial too.

Sort of. I'm making a medicinal herb garden. Just something very small that can be kept in pots and easy to care for. Nothing fancy... but it will be good for some simple alternate remedies.

Yes. Not only in having them but keeping the trees alive. With all the climatic changes they go through, keeping things growing is nothing short of a miracle.

I don't suppose you know of any flowers that go well with mikan? I'm told various vegetables and plants support each other, but I haven't checked the library yet.

So what is lavender good for, besides looking pretty?

Plenty of things.

For cooking, it can be used as a herb to flavor dishes, the flowers can be candied, you can make syrup and tea from the flowers. Medicinally, lavender teas and oils are used as sleep aids, and it's a major component in herbal brews used to soothe insect bites, burns, headaches, and acne. The oil can also be made into an antiseptic... and used in anti-inflammatory remedies. Lavender tends to attract bees, and ward away other insects, like mosquitoes, so it's useful to have in an orchard.

It's also nice to scent baths and be dried into making potpourri.
