Appointments 2.0

This post is for threading with Trafalgar Law anytime and anywhere. It can be used for Action or the Ring feature on journals (voice or written) to get in contact with him for personal conversations. This will be used primarily for 'placement' threads such as: someone left a present or 'by the way, come to this party on such-and-such' or the like.

[Meanwhile, Gai will just take a seat on the deck-- he's emotionally and physically worn out, as much as he's been trying to hide it, and he just wants to sit down and relax and get drunk out of his mind right about now.]

[It's not long before Law returns with the bottle of blue alcohol and two small glasses.]

Warn you right now. A bottle of this stuff can get even me drunk fast.

[And Law's alcohol tolerance is unnaturally high.]

That's exactly what I want to hear.

[The stronger, the better. He reaches up for one of the glasses, wanting to get started on this process right away.]

[And that glass will have a generous amount of Romulan Ale in it. As will Law's]

What I thought. Great seas, what a hell of a day.

[Now Gai does let his leader face slip, his entire body slumping down as he accepts the glass. It has been a hell of a day indeed.]

Hard to believe I was only gone for a few hours.

Yeah. [And that's a complicated mix of emotions right there. And he hates to admit that with three years under his belt, Law's never been home once. It's a bit of envy he'll never admit to... and one he doesn't feel in Gai's case as he's dead.

Nothing to go back to. He admits.] It seemed like longer.

It was a few months for me.

[He stares down at his glass for a moment, then downs it in a single gulp. He's going to need it if he's going to be recounting what happened in his world for the second time today.]

It turns out I wasn't even allowed to stay dead.

[...

Shock. And. You too?]

... what?

[Yeah. Refilling that glass.

Just give him a few minutes to process that first.]

The universe itself wouldn't allow me to die once Eve had chosen me as her king. No matter how many times I died, I would just be reborn over and over again until I carried out my role.

[His voice is flat, tired. He's tired, so tired, and having to make that announcement about the mission didn't do anything to help with that feeling, that much is for sure.]

Eve?

[He's not following... they've never spoken about anything like this. (Though it explains the cryptic king comments earlier)]

... what do you mean your role?

As harbinger of the apocalypse.

[Let that sink in for a moment.]

...

[That's sinking in. Give it a moment.]

... seas.

There was only one way to free us both from the cycle. I had to set the apocalypse in motion, and then allow myself to be killed. That way we would have carried out our roles and could finally rest in peace.
