Appointments 2.0

This post is for threading with Trafalgar Law anytime and anywhere. It can be used for Action or the Ring feature on journals (voice or written) to get in contact with him for personal conversations. This will be used primarily for 'placement' threads such as: someone left a present or 'by the way, come to this party on such-and-such' or the like.

[Well. Gai's expression visibly brightens at that.

Good man, Law. Good man.

... until he flinches suddenly, just a brief thing that's hardly noticeable, but there all the same.]

[If you mean hardly noticeable as akin to the sound of a gunshot. But Law doesn't comment.

There's no point to. Both of them are going to have get used to this.

He instead escorts Gai to the usual place where he does the transfusions. The procedure for hooking him up to the drip is no different than any other time the man's been here.]

[And for that Gai is grateful. He already feels vulnerable enough; the last thing he wants right now is to have his weaknesses pointed out either in words or behavior. They'll be making themselves known soon enough whether he wants it or not. The more normalcy he can have until then, the better.

But there's no doubting that he's glad to have that transfusion, if only for the temporary relief that it will provide.]

[Once the transfusion's underway, Law brings a vial of pills along with the written directions. He shakes two onto a dish, and pours a glass of sake.

The door, as ever, is locked behind them. No one can stumble in and see.]

[Now Gai's eyebrows go up. Offering him booze with the pills? Not that he's complaining, but he was under the impression that combining alcohol with most medications was a bad thing.]

I'm not going to pass out or get sick if I do this?

No. This particular medication doesn't contradict with alcohol. It's from my world. [So he knows.] But I don't recommend chugging the bottle in any case.

[It's also light sake he took out instead of the hardcore stuff just in case.]

[Hey, booze is booze, so no complaints on his end.]

So what should I expect from it?

[Side effect-wise, that is.]

As you adjust to it, the main effects you might experience are headaches, upset stomach [Ah, most common side affect (aside from nausea), you are present here as well.], and dizziness.

These should taper off in time, although it doesn't mean they won't occur occasionally after your body has acclimated to the drug.

In other words, nothing worse than the symptoms themselves. I think I can handle that as a trade-off if it means the crystallization will be slowed as a result.

[He smiles for a moment before it fades away to a deadly seriousness.]

But if the crystallization reaches the point where I'm unable to even move, I want you to end it. I don't want to be a prisoner in my own body.

[The Surgeon of Death closes his eyes for a moment.

This right here? Distinguishes him from most in his trade.]

Alright.

[No hesitation. Just steadiness and acceptance. He doesn't like it. He doesn't enjoy this part. But he'll do it without finching.

There are worse things than death after all.]

[Gai stares at him for a moment, just assessing. Though Law may not have a Void for him to see, he's well-versed enough by now in the art of reading people to tell that the doctor means what he says. He'll do it. He respects Gai's decision, and that's all Gai needs to know.]

Good.

[It's his way of saying thank you for not balking or trying to talk him out of it-- for accepting his choice. That final little bit of control over an illness that has governed his life for years means a great deal to him.]

[To that Law smiles faintly and inclines his head and pours them both a little more sake. What more needs to be said?

So he'll just drink. And hope for better than that final solution.]

[Better solution or not, just knowing that Law is willing to do that much for him is a huge weight off Gai's shoulders. If nothing else, he'll at least be able to rest a little easier.

And it also totally deserves another drink, so pour away, Law. Gai won't object.]
