Appointments 2.0

This post is for threading with Trafalgar Law anytime and anywhere. It can be used for Action or the Ring feature on journals (voice or written) to get in contact with him for personal conversations. This will be used primarily for 'placement' threads such as: someone left a present or 'by the way, come to this party on such-and-such' or the like.

[Law slips into the house quietly, having dropped off Marco's birthday present without too much incident. He's not really expecting anything from Itachi - his stance on birthdays and holidays he well knew.

Unnecessary.

So when he finds the paper and reads what's written on it, a thrill courses through him and he grins. The Beach. Someone's been planning something and Law can't wait to find out what.

On his way, Itachi.]

[Itachi will be standing just a ways out from where the teleporter drops people off, his back to Law.

He turns just slightly to acknowledge the other's presence.]

Hey.

[Law's face is a mix of utter curiosity and anticipation as he steps out of the teleporter. He has no idea of what Itachi has planned (although he can makes guesses at what it will involve). It'll be good whatever it is and he'll utterly enjoy it - Itachi going and doing something like this has already left him in a better (and dare we say... near giddy as a Law can get) mood then he's been in weeks.

What with the slew of messes he's been involved in or had to clean up lately.]

Good evening.

[The ninja smiles at him, and for a moment the red of the Sharingan is bright in his eyes. Then it fades, as if he just wanted a brief glimpse through the darkness.]

I thought, perhaps, that a short walk might be appropriate.

[Just a quick peek, huh?

But you know even a pirate can look underneath the underneath and... ohohoho... it clicks, he knows what just happened, even if he can't feel anything off at all. He won't use any of his abilities to try and check. He knows.

It's better than wrapping paper.]

It's a great night for it. Not too cold. Clear. [He reaches over to take Itachi's hand, because they're alone right now and screw what anyone thinks of two guys walking hand in hand on the beach.] Perfect company.

[Itachi is only the slightest bit hesitant to take his hand, but does so anyway. He nods in response to Law's comment, a smile still on his face.

As they begin walking, the moon begins to brighten, turning slowly into the sun which then begins to set fast enough that it's soon hanging just on the horizon, where it stops.

The waves rush up under them, the water pouring further up shore, but they continue to walk along its surface.]

[Law's expression turns to wonder as they continue on.

It is very obviously genjutsu. They are very obviously still on land because Itachi would be having troubles with Law's body if they had hit water, and he knows that weakness. But it's incredible and the tricks the sky is playing reminds him of home.

It's the ocean that's the real kicker. Shinobi walk across water with no fear, but for a Devil Fruit user exposure to the water means paralysis and death. It's what he misses from his time as Toshio. Simple chakra control that would allow him to do something like that.

It's why this is such a precious gift, even if Itachi doesn't intend it to be so. He is on the ocean itself and he feels none. Here Itachi won't let him drown.]

[This is the first time Itachi has ever done anything like this. Genjutsu is rarely used for pleasure, though he's positive he's not the first to do so.

It felt wrong at first, not asking to do what some might consider a violation, but he meant no harm by it and to ask would have ruined the surprise. Hopefully the outcome would outweigh any uncertainties.

Fish lept, arching over them to land gracefully on the opposite side of their path. Ahead of them, a large ship rose from the water to rest lightly on its surface. A plank slid from the side down to the surface, allowing them to walk up and board.

Awaiting them on deck was a table set for two.]

[If it was anyone else doing this? There would be problems. Law is viciously protective of the sanctity of his mind. But with Itachi, there is trust. There is trust he's only given Bepo.

He continues watching wide eyed as they walk on, and then when the ship rises? His mouth falls slightly open (and he suspects this is really the Shinonome they're getting on). And there was a table set for two.

Dinner?]

Wow.

[Nearly speechless. It's a perfect romantic night. On the sea. Perfect.

He was really, really going have to show his appreciation to his lover later on.]

[It is indeed Law's ship, which is revealed as soon as the world around them begins to flicker, then return to the way it really is in a somewhat disorienting manner.

When Itachi takes a seat, his movements are a little heavier than normal. He can only hold the genjutsu for so long, and he doesn't want to be too worn out to enjoy the rest of the evening.

The candles aren't lit yet (he wasn't about to risk any harm to the boat while he wouldn't be on it) and the food is covered.]

I apologize... I wish I could keep up the illusion a bit longer.

[You'll need your energy for later on, yes.

Law shakes his head as he takes a seat.]

Don't apologize... that was wonderful. This is perfect.

[He couldn't ask for anything better.]

[The ninja sits up a little and blows gently over the top of the candles, which then burst to life in very real flames.

Then he reaches over to remove the lids from everything, revealing their dinners. His own is a simple mix of vegetable tempura and rice, but for Law he's gone out of his way to get him a large steak. Any cooking of meat is usually left up to the pirate, but here Itachi has done his best.]

[It's rare, but Law loves rare. The meat is juicer that way, and this is a nice juicy, well marbled steak. A choice cut of meat. And Itachi must have really gone out of his way - Law knows quality beef when he eats it.

Especially since he so rarely gets that for himself. His diet is mainly fish and other sea creatures, and when he brings back meat, quantity wins often enough over quality. He needs the protein first. He finds it easier often to find high protein vegetarian substitutes (tofu is his friend) and just make a meal both Itachi and him can enjoy together.

He is getting spoiled tonight. Absolutely spoiled.

And he is going to lean over to kiss the ninja (and avoid lighting himself on fire at the same time) and whisper.]

[That 'thank you' makes everything worthwhile, really. (Not that it wouldn't have been had he said nothing.) And it gets another smile out of the ninja.]

It's been a long time since I've done anything for someone else's birthday.

Really? I couldn't tell.

[Grinning.

All of this? No one would believe you were out of practice.]

I wasn't sure if you would consider this appropriate.

Or... perhaps something more suited to a woman.

[Shaking his head, smiling.] Nothing womanly about enjoying a romantic meal together. Or manly either, if you think about it.[Because honestly romantic meals don't require candles and flowers or testosterone fueled antics to make it romantic. It's that connection and appreciation of each other over that breaking of bread.]

Did I tell you about my latest mission yet?

...I believe you may have brought it up, yes.

Well, sabotaging the droids was a success, and maybe there will be less troubles in the future with the original models. [Provided they don't yank the affected lots completely out of circulation.] But I also learned a lot about the world outside the barrier.

Like how a good deal of the population likes to romanticize the life in the enclosures and then fictionalize the events occurring within for mass entertainment. Books, manga, TV, movies... even fan conventions of the genre. [He snorts once and shakes his head.] It's apparently a very profitable industry catering to mostly to people born here.

That is... certainly interesting.

[Itachi frowns a bit, but only in mild confusion.]

Any information we can get about our captors and what lays beyond this place can be useful.

Mmhm. And understandable in a way. [Though he doesn't like it regardless] The people born to this world face a great deal of discrimination. 'Lucies' they're called. Having kids is seen as a very bad thing in the outside.

I know. We ran into potential allies out there. Not everyone is pleased with the enclosure system. There was a protest group called the FTSA demonstrating at the resort over top of the Rogue Malnosso production facility. We managed to get in contact with them.

Can we remain in contact with them?

[This is definitely better news than they'd had for a while.]

This has to be the most we've learned of the outside world to date.

Hopefully. You know how restrained and monitored we are out there. [And there's no guarantee we'll run into a memeber again.] Hopefully something can be managed. Shikamaru would know more on that... he was the one who met with the group in person along with Masaomi and a few others.
