Appointments 2.0

This post is for threading with Trafalgar Law anytime and anywhere. It can be used for Action or the Ring feature on journals (voice or written) to get in contact with him for personal conversations. I am Jedi Grandmaster Nomi Sunrider. I apologize for disturbing you, but I'm told you've been around for some time and I have questions about the history of the village.

[The voice pauses]

Luke was recently the victim of a kidnapping perpetrated by the Malnosso. They seemed to feel it would be amusing to switch our minds and bodies. It's quite strange, but we are two souls in one body.

Has anything like this ever occurred in the village before? Or, in your home?

Not in my home. No.

[Two souls in one body? No. There was Blackbeard, and he was abnormal in ways Law couldn't quite put his finger on yet, but whenever he thought 'they' it was the impression of Legion.]

As for Luceti? A case like yours as never occurred to my knowledge. [Not saying it hasn't happened, but if so, he is simply not aware. Not all brought their kidnapping effects to the attention of the medical community after all.]

Hmm. What do you know of kidnapping effects? How long do they typically last?

[Her voice is slightly worried.]

Long term damage to Luke is something I would rather avoid, and the strain of two minds in a single body is not to be taken lightly.

It's very dependent. Most kidnapping effects... ninety-five percent of them, last only a week. Much more rarely are the effects that last months and taper off more slowly. In extremely, and I do mean extremely, rare cases... the effects are permanent.

I see. May I ask what he'd be facing if this carries on?

Well, to my knowledge, there has never been a reported case of a spirit dwelling in another person's body that ended well. I fear that if it goes on too long, Luke and I will become permanently conjoined. My psyche is already imprinted on his, and his on mine. We share...some mannerisms now, but I'd be worried that if it went on too long we would lose a sense of self and become one.

... [That's something. And he's not sure what he could do. Maybe...? But he hasn't tried that new ability on any living and ensouled thing yet.]

Very serious, indeed. Superficially, this shares some similarity with what happens with our other selves created by the Shifts, but what you are telling me is on an entirely different level. I'd like to help, but I admit this is entirely new ground I'm treading on.
