[And so he begins. Careful stitchery to make sure the muscle mends as well as possible. These are deep, and so he works as fast as he can, but he can't simply sew things together hastily. There is going to be stress in this region no matter how careful she is with it, and he has to account for it.]

Not for the first bit. But, on the bright side, it's an excuse to catch up on any reading you've been saving for a rainy day. Or indulge in a new hobby like shogi.

[He grins briefly.]

Shogi you can easily while away the hours playing. It's a little addictive that way.

[Ginia winces slightly when he begins stitching and flops a hand over her eyes to avoid the urge to watch.]

How long until I can hopping about a greater distance than the living room to the kitchen and back? And what's shogi?

Give it a week and a half to be on the safe side, unless Doctor Adele says otherwise. There's going to be a lot of swelling in the next fourty-eight hours, so you'll have to be on bed rest, with that leg elevated for the first three to four days at least. Cold compresses will help with some of that, and I will prescribe you anti-inflammatory medication to keep down the pain, but you probably won't feel like leaving the house until that time's up, I'm afraid.

Shogi's a form of chess. It's a hell of a lot of fun. ... I like it, Shikamaru likes it, the spirits like it...

I wish more people liked it. I'd get more matches that way.

[Ginia nods, a grimace forming at the idea of two days of bedrest. Necessary bedrest yes, but idleness never suited her. Still, she knows there are worse ways the night could have ended. It's a good thing the couch is quite comfortable and there's an open bedroom downstairs too.]

Always been horrible at chess.
