008 [Accidental Video] PLAYER EVENT, forward dated to the evening of July 6th
[Good evening, Luceti. Good evening, Community Housing Unit Two.
How is your night going? Are you with loved ones or friends tonight? Having dinner? Working? Perhaps, just perhaps, you’re contemplating turning in early for the night. It’s peaceful, as evenings go, after all. The stars are bright, the winds soft and perfumed with the scents of the nearby forests.
And over the journal, there it is…
… the sound of glass breaking. A book falling and thudding open… a snarl.
Here we go, that same old song and dance.]
Wha--- [ka-chink] WATCH OUT, BEPO!
[It happens with brutal speed and the journal window is obscured in blinding blue flaring light and shouts and screams and panic are drowned out in the sound of crashing and the ever rising roar of destruction and tremors that crescendos with an explosion. An explosion that tears out the exterior walls of Apartment 40 and most of the roof above it upwards and outwards in a cloud of concrete and twisted metal and other debris to fall like rain below.
Michael Bay would be proud.
And then a soft voice, horrified:]
Bepo…
[The voice changes then, becomes cold and unyielding as something looms into view. It is limned with blue fire and heavily bleeding, and it wields a sword.]
… listen up and listen well, you and your masters eavesdropping, because I’m going to say this only once. No one fucks with a man’s nakama and should expect to live. You want me?
[Death beckons.]
GET OVER HERE.
[And everything is drowned out in light and fury and rips outward from the apartment, ripping and slashing through the walls to the rest of floor eight and through the floor downwards to leave gaping rifts and wreckage in its path all the way to the sixth, and the roar only rises and the building shakes again.
Then it stops.
Eerie silence reigns.]
B-bepo? [COUGH. HACK. The sounds of someone dragging themselves across the floor.] … still alive. [The voice is wavering, relieved, before steeling.] Still alive.
[Bloody tattooed fingers pull the book closer, and something drips on the pages, and the man makes another wet, hacking sound.]
That can’t be…
… all of them…
[ And through that crimson veil, NOW you see it, in amidst all the wreckage and blood splattered everywhere, the remains of droids. The undefeated droids. Now empty eyed and shattered and reduced to no more than useless pieces. They don’t even twitch… just spark. Impossible, isn’t it? But long moments pass and yet…
No more come.
Look. The impossible is impossible no more.]
((OOC: For the sake of keeping the timeline somewhat together, I ask that there’s no multiple people arriving first at the scene in the action threads. I will be providing scene descriptors as necessary. The droids will be returning in one hour, wherever Law and the rest of the characters may be, and they cannot be stopped and they will do anything and everything to stop your character from halting them from catching their prize. I’ll be keeping a countdown of time left until they swarm like the zombies of The Night of The Living Dead. Please threadjack all over the place here.
As a bonus, here’s the music that would have cued up in the middle of the attack.))

[ action ]
And the sooner he'd dropped the wounded off the sooner he could return.]
[ action ]
Mia, you help with Trafalgar until I get there.
[Bepo's the one who's unconscious. He's the one she needs to check. She doesn't know what Mia can do, but heck, anyone can work Nala here, and Trafalgar's a doctor, and conscious. If she starts doing something wrong or weird, he'll know, he'll say something, and Shikamaru can stop it.
She draws some water out of her waterskin, lets it coat her hands and moves towards where Itachi's set Bepo down, not giving a second thought to the fact that she's revealing her connection with water and fighting style to Itachi (and whoever this Sasuke is) when it might have been her only advantage against him if she ever had to fight him. He's helping now and figuring out what's going on with Bepo is more important. But she flicks a quick glance at Shikamaru as if to say - watch her, but I think it'll be okay - as she does so.
She doesn't flinch when she brushes by Itachi, simply kneeling and placing her hands on Bepo's head. The water begins to glow a soft gleaming blueish-white light.]
I'll be quick.
[And then she closes her eyes to concentrate, because there are subtle differences in Bepo's chi system that come from him being, well, a bear.]
[ action ]
He looks at Law very briefly, trying to hide his worry, then quickly looks back to Itachi. He hasn't talked to him since... well. That doesn't matter. Shikamaru keeps his tone professional, with a touch of distrust he doesn't completely feel anymore.]
You'll need to take Bepo to the clinic in the Battle Dome. It's farther out, but they'll be better equipped to treat him there. [And it's farther out, which is the important thing to him here. Distance shouldn't matter much for a ninja of Itachi's caliber either.]
As for Law... there's a house by the third community housing building that should still be empty. It's the best we'll be able to do, under the circumstances.
[For locations, at least. They'll need to take other measures too. The droids are being handled... he wonders how Daisy will go about it. He should get into contact with her as soon as possible, once things are in order here.]
[ action ]
Regardless, nobody is moving Law in the state he's in now. Mia kneels beside him, with a quick smile to Shikamaru when he steps aside to let her pass. At a glance, Law has more serious injuries than she wanted to see. It's only a few years of practice controlling her expression that keeps her from showing signs of worry.
Nothing she or anyone else tries will be of any good if he bleeds to death in the process, though. She holds her hands above the two worst wounds she can see]
Hold still. It won't hurt. [Saying so isn't a reflex anymore. But chances are, no one watching her will be able to see the glow of Pure Ply, though she casts it twice, turning all of her focus on bringing his wounds to the point that they won't reopen when he's moved. If necessary, she will cast it a third time. Much more than that will take too long.]
[ action ] 25 min mark
... fine. Still going to talk though.]
Strawhat Luffy and Commander - no, it's Captain now - Marco are inbound as well. [Urgh, must reveal this too.] They're Haki users... they should be able to find us even if we move. For Mister Marco... I ask that you allow him to talk to me first. He'll want a few words, Captain to Captain, and that is his right. [The Whitebeards are serious business and to be accorded utmost respect, in other words.]
[The Battledome clinic. Good. It's far enough away it should be safe. And the touch of relief that crosses his features when Shikamaru says that says much about his frame of mind over his nakama.]
I won't move. [And even if it did hurt, he wouldn't complain. He centers to monitor what she's doing, however. His body is his weapon as much as his sword and he needs to know exactly what condition it's in if things turn sour.
And despite appearances and what perhaps most (except maybe the battle hardened ninja) can percieve, he's still very capable of mounting a vicious assault regardless of his wounds. If she intends to harm him or worse, Shikamaru and Sasuke won't need to stop her. He'll do it himself.
But he doubts that's the case here.
It's not quite healing so much as sealing he feels. It'll hold him.]
Thank you.
[ action ]
What he is really here to do is defend, or, if he's lucky, be on the offense. Whatever his calm, stoic demeanor might be indicating, he is longing to stretch his muscles in a fight.]
[ action ]
The Battle Dome, then.
I will return.
[And then he's off, hoping to put as much distance between the two as possible before reinforcements show up.]
((ooc: Feel free to skip him a couple rounds?))
[ action ]
As it is, she walks over to Trafalgar to assess his healing. She caught the last bit of that - Captain to Captain as is his right, read enough between the lines to hear that Trafalgar wanted to talk to him, or else she was paying absolutely no attention to that particular protocol, especially if it endangered him.
To perform her diagnostic, she simply crouches down enough to place a water-coated hand on his forehead. His chi system lights up in her mind and oh - ouch.
But. She glances at Shikamaru.]
He's good enough to move.
[And then at Mia.]
Thank you.
[ action ]
[This will have to do, for now. If, in the time it will take to move him, she can regain some of her Psynergy...well then, so much the better.]
You're welcome. [To both of them. You'll never lose any politeness on her. It stings just a little that there was an element of mistrust...but it makes sense, too. Hopefully it won't be a problem again. She will do her part to help move him, too, if they require it.
What she won't do is leave, even if asked. As far as she's concerned she isn't finished.]
[ action ] Order=Katara-Mia-Law-Sasuke with Itachi +Shikamaru able to jump in anywhere
Bepo...
He can't think about that right now. Bepo will be safe. Now for what's at hand. He can move. Bloodloss hasn't interfered with that.]
I'll be fine walking. Trust me.
[Despite being on the athletic side of slender, he's heavy. A hundred and ninety pounds of sheer solid muscle. They can't afford to carry him.]
[ action ]
Lead the way, then.
[Law was, after all, the inevitable center of this.]
[ action ]
Come on. Lay down on the sofa.
[ action ]
Mia will go back to healing, when he does. It will be more substantial this time, taking a lot more of her concentration, but mean to last. No temporary repairs.]
[ action ]
There have been people coming and going on the way - Mister Marco and Miss Daisy. And Mister Strawhat has arrived to fight. It is nearly go time. Did you feel the burn in your barcodes? He did.
Don't expect him to stay still once the fighting starts. A Captain does not sit out his own battles. Especially in front of other Captains.]
Katara? I need you to hold onto my hat and keep it safe. Can you do that for me?
[ action ]
Without a word, Sasuke had jumped up on the roof to stand watch, right above the front door, while Law is healed. His sharingan grants him certain night vision, and he had a clear view of the surroundings from up there. One of his hands rubs absentmindedly at the bar code as he waits.]
(ooc: Unless anybody decides to interact with this guy, feel free to go on without me until the droids close in.)
[ action ]
But Trafalgar arrests her attention with that. As it is, she's kneeling by the sofa by his head in order to best stay out of Mia's way.]
What?
[ action ]
There is less...there, to use, than I'm used to. [And now that she knows his injuries aren't threatening his life anymore, she'd rather take a rest and recover some Psynergy than work herself into a faint. She looks at Katara and Law with a confused sort of smile] Weren't there others?
[ action ] 55 min mark
[He's going to slightly twist to take off his hat carefully, so he doesn't dirty the fur too much, and then stretch over to plunk it straight on Katara's head.]
My hat. Keep it safe. It's my treasure. I don't want the Malnosso touching it.
[ action ] 1/2
[ action ]
Her voice is low and firm.]
They won't touch it.
[ action ]
[She doesn't really need to ask. Standing, and turning to face the door, will do more good.]
[ action ]
[The thank you in his eyes dims, and his expression becomes shuttered and hard. He grips his sword once more.]
[ action ]
He says nothing, just nods, braced for an attack.]
