008 [Accidental Video] PLAYER EVENT, forward dated to the evening of July 6th
[Good evening, Luceti. Good evening, Community Housing Unit Two.
How is your night going? Are you with loved ones or friends tonight? Having dinner? Working? Perhaps, just perhaps, you’re contemplating turning in early for the night. It’s peaceful, as evenings go, after all. The stars are bright, the winds soft and perfumed with the scents of the nearby forests.
And over the journal, there it is…
… the sound of glass breaking. A book falling and thudding open… a snarl.
Here we go, that same old song and dance.]
Wha--- [ka-chink] WATCH OUT, BEPO!
[It happens with brutal speed and the journal window is obscured in blinding blue flaring light and shouts and screams and panic are drowned out in the sound of crashing and the ever rising roar of destruction and tremors that crescendos with an explosion. An explosion that tears out the exterior walls of Apartment 40 and most of the roof above it upwards and outwards in a cloud of concrete and twisted metal and other debris to fall like rain below.
Michael Bay would be proud.
And then a soft voice, horrified:]
Bepo…
[The voice changes then, becomes cold and unyielding as something looms into view. It is limned with blue fire and heavily bleeding, and it wields a sword.]
… listen up and listen well, you and your masters eavesdropping, because I’m going to say this only once. No one fucks with a man’s nakama and should expect to live. You want me?
[Death beckons.]
GET OVER HERE.
[And everything is drowned out in light and fury and rips outward from the apartment, ripping and slashing through the walls to the rest of floor eight and through the floor downwards to leave gaping rifts and wreckage in its path all the way to the sixth, and the roar only rises and the building shakes again.
Then it stops.
Eerie silence reigns.]
B-bepo? [COUGH. HACK. The sounds of someone dragging themselves across the floor.] … still alive. [The voice is wavering, relieved, before steeling.] Still alive.
[Bloody tattooed fingers pull the book closer, and something drips on the pages, and the man makes another wet, hacking sound.]
That can’t be…
… all of them…
[ And through that crimson veil, NOW you see it, in amidst all the wreckage and blood splattered everywhere, the remains of droids. The undefeated droids. Now empty eyed and shattered and reduced to no more than useless pieces. They don’t even twitch… just spark. Impossible, isn’t it? But long moments pass and yet…
No more come.
Look. The impossible is impossible no more.]
((OOC: For the sake of keeping the timeline somewhat together, I ask that there’s no multiple people arriving first at the scene in the action threads. I will be providing scene descriptors as necessary. The droids will be returning in one hour, wherever Law and the rest of the characters may be, and they cannot be stopped and they will do anything and everything to stop your character from halting them from catching their prize. I’ll be keeping a countdown of time left until they swarm like the zombies of The Night of The Living Dead. Please threadjack all over the place here.
As a bonus, here’s the music that would have cued up in the middle of the attack.))

[voice -> action]
[action] LJ stop eating my tags
I... found that out the hard way when we first fought. I only managed to take out one before they took me out. [Choked, and head smashed through walls, and furniture and practically everything else. And since that didn't manage to knock him out, they sealed the deal by piledriving him through the clinic's medicine cabinets.] This time? There was something wrong with what they sent. They didn't even try to nullify my abilities.
[He shakes his head. Back on track. Weaknesses.]
The droids have few weakness. Whatever passes for eyes on those things are one. Joints for another. If you can get off the armor or pierce through, what's inside is very fryable.
[His voice lowers slightly. Now this? This is very important.]
If the droids are destroyed, the Malnosso make sure they aren't left behind. There are people in the village that are capable of reverse engineering the technology in them. The droids are capable of a lot, including apparently passing through the barrier. It's not something they want us getting a hold of.
But now... [A look towards the apartment. Their little toys are broken and in pieces...
... and left behind.]
[action] LJ is a bitch.
Perhaps because it wasn't tailored to a devil fruit user, but Bepo instead.
Hm... [Thinks over the last part the most. He doesn't know jack about robotics and weird things like that, what does he look like? Vegapunk... but still, the commander in him has a thought.] Then maybe we should get as much out and to people who know about these things before their reconnaissance show up?
[action] LJ is the bitch of bitches
No. Those things were after me. It was clear who their primary objective was when they showed up. They only attacked Bepo first. [Gritting teeth. Bepo had been closer to the door.] Thought they killed him for a second. [And he is furious for it. Not only at the droids, oh no, but at himself, illogical as it might seem. And it is illogical - he never invited the droids, had done nothing to the Malnosso, it wasn't his fault they had came. But they came, and because he was the target, his nakama was unconcious and being taken to the clinic. And that? For that and so many other things, one day he'd be sure to gut the ones responsible.] And they'll be back sooner or later to finish the job.
... Bepo's been moved to the clinic. He should be safe now that he's away from me.
[He's already a step ahead of you.] There's a woman named Daisy-023 retrieving what's left of the droids. She's from one of those highly technological advanced worlds, and probably knows more than a thing or two about robotics, given her battle suit. I'd wager she knows others with expertise in the area as well. But the Malnosso will be after those parts as well. What she needs is time, and someone to keep the droids off her back to at least do a scan.
[action] word
So perhaps it's something malfunctioning with the droids themselves?
[Sighs. Probably REALLY not his place to get so personal with a guy he just spoke to starting today, but eh, it's Marco. And he knows what losing a nakama is like to the highest degree. So he pokes Law's hat very lightly.] And we'll get revenge for Bepo, just make sure you take it out on the right guys, eh?
[action]
[It's the most important job of the lot. Even if they prevent him from being taken another time, it doesn't solve anything. They'll just keep coming and really? Does it change anything in here? It does not. Here's a chance to really strike back and free themselves.
This is more than himself now.
He made a promise. To Bepo when he first arrived. That he would do anything in his power to free them. And he is a man of his word. So if he has to go down so that they have a chance later on? So be it. It'll be worth anything he has to endure.]
Could be. The Malnosso have been having issues for the last few months. Infighting. Coups. Something or somebody could have slipped somewhere.
[And now a genuine smile.] Don't worry. I know who deserves my wrath and it's no one here.
[action]
Infighting? Oh... intriguing.
Good. Save it all up for them. All right, I'll go find this Daisy to keep her out of harm's way and buy her some time, eh? Give 'em hell Rookie. [Pats his head and the fluffy hat.]
[[ooc: Anywhere specific I should threadjump her?]]
Re: [action]
I intend to. [Arrrrgh. Youuuu. Fluffy hat patting. To that he'll just raise his eyebrows and shake his head. He does not know whether to be exasperated or amused by that. Wait.
... amused a bit, apparently.] Good luck to you too.
