[Blissfully unaware of Admirals stalking the village in search of him, Trafalgar Law is taking a few hours away from nosing around the village and through the journals... though it’s still open – he likes to listen to the background noise from the book. Today he must attend to some of life’s tedious domestic necessities. Mainly cleaning the apartment, cooking dinner, and sitting down on the couch to alter some new shirts and sweaters to accommodate his wings.
Boring, but it’s not going to get done by itself.
Sword maintenance comes next on the list, and that’s when the hairs on the back of his neck start to rise as he sights down the blade looking for imperfections and fractures. It’s a loud day for the journals, what with the floods of new arrivals (and no voices of crew yet), but he’s got the uneasy feeling the fun’s about to visit him in turn. 8| ]
… it’s really going crazy out there…

You have NO idea how happy he is to see you, Bepo
... Bepo?
[It's been nearly two months since he's last seen you buddy. Nearly two months in a cage with the company of Blackbeard, the Strawhats, some Marines, and a mass of people from worlds of every description. He's missed you.
Now don't freak out, Bepo.
Your Captain has wings. Black feathered wings tipped with yellow.
He promises he's not dead.
Just occasionally horribly experimented on.]1/2 :D
I woke up away from the ship. [ Which doesn't make any sense, he's just saying.
...

C-CAPTAIN, YOU HAVE WINGS!
no subject
... though, you know, there are female talking bears here. X3]
You would have. This is Luceti an-
[Woah there. Oh yes, that little detail.]
... yes, I do. Now... Bepo... [You aren't going to calm down easily this time are you?
And huh, where are yours? How can you be alive here without wings. 8|]
It's okay, Bepo. I'm alright.
no subject
Lifting up a paw with every intention of patting at them; only he retracts that decision because they don't look very sturdy and he shouldn't hurt the Captain by accidentally tearing something.
So the answer is clear. He must fret. ] How?
no subject
As I said, this is Luceti. It's... a cage. With people from many different worlds as captives within. [Yeah, you know well how he likes cages, and chains, and collars, and things like that. As in not.] It's unknown how they manage to kidnap us - I was in bed, in our sub, a thousand feet down when I was grabbed. But, to explain why... people thrown in here are branded [Tapping the back of his neck where the barcode is - another unwilling tattoo] and have the wings surgically attached. I'm not sure why they do it - perhaps to withstand the shifting enviroment - but removal is fatal.
[And here's one of the parts you really WON'T enjoy]
... now I know this is hard to take in, and this will be worse, but Bepo, this place is outside of any world's time. I've been here nearly two months in reality...
no subject
Two months? [ You're sure you're alright, right? No major wounds? D: ] What about the crew?
no subject
[Aside from hypothermia and mild frostbite he was dealt when he first arrived, he's been fine, Bepo. Not a scratch.
... yeah, he knows how much it sucks for you guys when the doctor needs doctoring. He really does try not to do it often, Bepo, really.]
They're back on the sub. [Shaking his head] Since we're out of time to them, they won't notice us gone. We'll be returned to the same moment we left when the Malnosso finish having their merry way with us, with no memory of this ever happening.
no subject
Sitting down: this, Captain, is a very complicated state of affairs. But at least you've got your first-mate-bear now. ]
So we can't do anything...
no subject
[And they will seize it.]
[Sigh... there's more, buddy. Sliding next to you now because this is going to be distressing.]
There's more, Bepo. I need to tell you how things are within the village.
no subject
Law's going to have such deja vu if Bepo gets in, isn't he.]How are they?
no subject
Such deja vu like you wouldn't believe]The Malnosso are the ones that maintain this cage we're in, Bepo. There are a number of things to expect while in the village. [Pause] One, the populace is experimented on constantly. The experiments can be anything. I've so far been stripped of my Devil Fruit abilities, turned into a child, made older, and mentally and physically compelled into participating in humilating acts against my will. The only saving grace to this is that the effects of the experimentation aren't permanent.
Then there's the kidnappings. Sometimes the Malnosso perfer a more one on one approach. So they send in their droids, apprend the person in question by force, and drag them off before anyone else has a chance to respond. The droids are powerful and they're sent in droves. No one yet has sucessfully thwarted a kidnapping. Occassionally the Malnosso will also forceably draft the villagers into fighting their wars for them. No one has a choice either. Everyone who's picked goes. Even non combatants such as children.
And then there's the villagers themselves...

C-captain-! [ This is without a doubt the worst cage ever created. ]
no subject
Hands gripping shoulders in comradeship, comfort, and steadfast resolve? You better believe it.]
We are going to get through this, Bepo. [Firm] I will make sure of it. But you have to believe that too, Bepo.
[Trust your Captain, Bepo.]
no subject
Aye, Captain. [ A little subdued he may be, but that's just part of the post-panic process. ]
no subject
... the villagers themselves are a mixed bunch. Most are harmless unless provoked - good folk. There's a bunch that are grayer, and there are some outright sociopaths and psychopaths in the village that will murder without thought. Most are very competant fighters in some manner - some weaker than us, some stronger - and with a dizzying array of powers at their disposal. There's no government here, or system of law enforcement [Pirate that he is, it's not something he has a problem with] and justice itself is enforced by the mob. Luceti itself is very clannish, and the various factions will unite or go at each other's throats at the near slightest provaction.
So you will understand that we must be very careful in what we do here. This is a cage. There is no possibility of running if things go bad.

We must be especially mindful of our interactions with the Strawhat Pirates. They are extremely popular within the village and what they have to say is well respected and carries a lot of weight. They are also nearly fully crewed here. I have seen eight out of the nine confirmed crew members, and they may have gotten their ninth in this last wave. The balance of power does not favour us at all.
There are several things to remember here. This is not the Grand Line, and our hunt for One Piece is at an impasse... the only thing that could get us closer to achieving it is leaving Luceti with our memories intact. They are also our rivals only so far - not our enemies. I bear them no ill will, and a crossing of swords between them and us helps no one. I would prefer to avoid bloodshed if possible. Our survival depends on working together, or at least maintaining a peaceful coexistance.
So far I have been have been as helpful, informative, and pleasant to them as appropriately possible in our interactions. Hopefully, they will reciprocate. [And Sanji did call about Kizaru. A positive sign...]
Now... Blackbeard...
no subject
Blackbeard is here? ]

I've just been watching him so far - seeing what I can learn. I've avoided revealing my presence for the time, and it seems he has not learned of me yet. But a confrontation is inevitable. There will be no alliance with him - he is powerful, yes, but he is also a dishonorable backstabbing snake and nakama killer to boot. We'd just end up getting screwed over and loathed by the villagers, who also do not think fondly of him.
Honestly, I'd toss him off a ice flow if I could, here and now, but sadly that is not possible.
So that leaves us to stand our ground when it does finally happen. The Strawhats at least seem to be honorable and they may stand with us, or at least offer aid afterwards. I... know what happened to Jewelry Bonney when she did face him, Bepo, but... this way we maintain our own self respect and honor. It is the better of the two evils.
no subject
We'll be ready.
no subject
Nakama.
And this is why, in the end, whatever end, Blackbeard won't be Pirate King.
Law needed this reminder. Needed it so very badly.]
We will. Whatever comes.
no subject
Shifting and giving you a semi-curious look; any other news to break, Captain? ]
no subject
He nods slowly.]
That's the pirates here. I said earlier that there were some Marines here. Two established, and one in this latest wave. Remember the young pink haired Marine who unintentionally stopped Kizaru from blasting us from the water? [The one we damnably owe for that?] He's here. His name is Coby. I only spoke to him over the journals during my arrival... he hasn't placed my face, but there was a sense of recognition none the less. He may have connections to the Strawhats here... he may not, but he does know of what we did at Marineford. As far as I know, they know nothing of what we did there... and they may leap to conclusions when they do. So I'm waiting and seeing before deciding a course of action with him.
The other one I know little about, save he's a logia that turns into smoke. No telling when he's from or his involvement with the others here. Too soon to tell if he's a government lapdog, a psycho on the Marine leash, or one that's a little more reasonable. He seems reasonably intelligent... but again, too soon. Again, hopefully we can wait and see with him before our paths cross.
The last one came with this wave, and I just had one of the Strawhats, Sanji, inform me he's here...
